I could not believe what happened at my dentists the other day and thought it may be a warning for us all.
I broke yet another tooth the other day so as I had a check up due booked an appointment with my very nice dentist.
Yes she said you will have to have another crown only problem was they had run out of theie NHS funding for the year
so if I wanted the crown it would be £440.00. SO SHE put some filler on it and said come back in April hope fully the filler will last
till then and we will have our new funding.
She said that this is happening up and down the country and they expect it to be worse nxt year (financial)

NHS dentistry??? I've been trying to get onto an NHS dentist's list for years. I just keeping hoping that nothing goes wrong with my teeth because there's no way I could afford anything more than a check up done privately.

Let's hope your dentist's magic putty holds out until April then.

It would be funny if it wasn't so incredible!

Goodness me, that is awful. I hope you have recovered from the shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scared Scared It must have been awful. You should get proper care from the nhs and not be threatened with mega bills or fiobbed off with substandard treatment. It just isnt good enough.

I must admit though I have had horrendous experiences with nhs dentists, when my 10 year old chipped his tooth and needed root canal treatment, and he had an extremely painful abcess, I could not find any dentist to give him free nhs treatment. I ended up at the dental hospital. It was a truly traumatic experience. It made me so mad. We just did not have the hundreds of pounds to pay privartely the time. It was an experience my poor son will never forget.

Anyway, I hope you get your situation resolved satisfactorily.
